Dear SOS Supporter,
With your financial support, SOS will meet the extraordinary, pandemic-driven demand for meals and services.
In 2019, we served 17,000 meals.
In 2022, we will serve 60,000 meals!
Although the costs of food and supplies have greatly increased, our resourceful chefs, Dan and Dawn, have done an amazing job serving delicious meals without interruption. Average post-pandemic meal costs rose from $5.00 to $6.25 per meal, a substantial 25% increase.
SOS also continues to provide essential services to the homeless and members of our Sonoma community who are living on the margins, including:
Shower and laundry facilities at the Haven
-
The Safe Parking Program, which provides secure overnight parking for 10 people living in their vehicles
-
Access to temporary housing resources in 15 huts at Los Guilicos Village for Sonoma Valley residents
-
COVID testing, vaccinations, boosters, and flu shots Clothing, socks, hygiene kits, and bus ticketsCase managementEmergency shelter at local hotels
-
The only cooling center opened in Sonoma during the heat wave in September
-
Obstacles or crises may come our way in 2023, but we are prepared to face them with our dedicated staff, committed volunteers, and generous supporters like you. Together we have the power to make our community better. Please help your Sonoma community with a financial donation so we may continue to serve those most in need.
With gratitude,
Kathy King
