Dear Friend of SOS,

Many home gardens are overflowing with zucchini this time of the summer, and local farms are no different! We received an abundance of zucchini this week and our kitchen and Chef Dan had to get creative figuring out how to keep things interesting for our clients. If you’re in a similar spot – feel free to steal his ideas, pictured below.

On Monday we received a 105 lbs donation of zucchini from The Patch (right) and a mix of different summer squash from Little Paradise Farms (above)

We hope you know how appreciative we are for our dedicated team; SOS could not operate if not for them! Many volunteers sign up for a weekly or monthly shift. Others cover our home-bound meal deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, for the spontaneous schedulers, we have a new opportunity for you! Join us as an on-call volunteer and receive a text or email (your preference) only when we’re short on volunteers. We will reach out either same day or with ~24 hour notice. No need to reply if you’re busy, but please do let us know if you can fill the need! We expect the most common needs to be a 2 hour shift in the kitchen, or a 1 hour shift of delivery. If this interests you or you have questions, please email Petal at intake@sonomaovernightsupport.org

From all of us at SOS, have a great weekend!
